Garden Photos

The landscaping is nearly complete.  Here are some photos of the backyard.  None of the plants are settled in yet and there are still a few miscellaneous things the landscaper needs to take care of before we give him final payment.

The mini-tree in the corner is a dwarf kumquat tree.  In front of it are dwarf dahlias.  I love dahlias!  I will have to do more research to see if the big dinner plate size dahlias will grow here.  The tall vine with orange trumpet flowers are honeysuckle.  They attract humming birds.  The shrub is a nandina.  And the other medium size plants are lilies.  They grow like crazy around here.



Honeysuckle, lilies, and pygmy date palm.  In the areas between the two lily plants we will put in a sago palm.




Our front stoned stucco backed bench.  The far corner is a lime tree.  By the BBQ is a red banana plant.  It had some wind damage from the store but it should be pretty hard and come back strong.


Some boxwood shrubs to go around the airconditioner.


My main flower garden with roses, celosias, marigolds, and lantana.  I am sure we will get more but we are waiting until it settles in.  The lantana will grow into shrubs as well.

Blueberries - I have never grown this before so let's see how it turns out.


My Veggie Garden.  I will start with tomatoes, bell peppers, squash, zucchini, and peas.  Then add more if I need to.
